Data Engineer

Position Summary

At Covered, we pride ourselves on continuous evolution. To drive us forward in data, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer. This position will be focused on data transformation, creating unique data infrastructure, running tests on designs to isolate errors and updating systems to accommodate changes in company needs. This position requires someone who has a proven track record of creating and maintaining an optimal pipeline architecture and is familiar with Databricks.

Position Responsibilities

• Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies
• Monitor and maintain data pipelines proactively to ensure high service availability.
• Create scripts and programs to automate data operations.
• Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
• Working with all departments to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues
• Performs ETL, ELT operations and administration of data and systems securely and in accordance with enterprise data governance standards.
  

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools.
• 3+ years' experience in Big Data Distributed systems such as Databricks, AWS EMR, AWS Glue etc.
• Experience in Big Data Distributed systems such as Databricks, AWS EMR, AWS Glue etc.
• Experience with container management frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECR etc.
• Proven track records in data migrations
• Work with Stakeholders and Understand their Requirements
• Working Knowledge on BI Reporting (preferably Tableau and Sigma)
• Highest personal and professional integrity and strong work ethics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in statistics, data science, mathematics or computer science
  • Experience with AI is a plus
  • Software knowledge: G-Suite, AWS, Applied Epic, Salesforce, HubSpot, Glia, Tableau, Sigma, Miro and Monday.com
    Insurance experience a plus
